2021 Vintage Report

2021 Vintage Report

The 2020- 2021 season was significantly wetter than the previous. However, winter rainfall was 22% below average and spring was below average by 15%. The reduced rainfall was offset by general cooler conditions and although November was warmer than average, summer was very mild. Conditions were very favourable during flowering, fruit set and verasion, resulting in solid bunch formation and even ripening. The below average rainfall and cooler conditions resulted in a natural restriction of berry size while limiting stress to vines enabling fruit to evenly ripen the average yield, producing fruit of exceptional quality. Overall, the wine god Bacchus was clearly in our corner during the 2021 vintage, which will be well remembered as one of the greats.
