Hand-picked, destemmed into small open fermenters, 6-8 days on skins, pumped over twice daily, matured for 18 months in used French barriques. A very good example of full-bodied Barossa Valley shiraz from the Marananga district, crammed full of black fruits, licorice oak and tannins, all in balance. This really deserves cellaring, as it carries its alcohol without effort.----94 points, James Halliday
